1. What do I need to rent a car? In order to rent a car you need two valid documents (a national ID car or a passport and driver’s license for Czech nationals; a passport and a driver’s license for other nationals) and an embossed credit card to make the deposit.
2. How do I make a deposit and what is the required amount? A deposit is made by way of pre-authorization on your credit card. The pre-authorized amount is subject to the lease term and type of rented car, and the minimum is CZK 10,000.) Only our loyal and long-term customers can make a deposit in cash, if so agreed. After the lease term expires and the car is checked and returned, the pre-authorization is cancelled, i.e. the amount blocked on the client’s account is released.
3. What is a pre-authorization? A pre-authorization means the blocking of a deposit on the client’s bank account. It is done electronically using a payment terminal and the client’s credit card. This is a secure way of making a cash-free deposit while no fees are charged by the bank. The blocking can be cancelled immediately after the rented car is returned. The client receives a receipt for each transaction on the corporate headed paper. The pre-authorization is made and cancelled only on the basis of a lease contract that you receive upon the rental and cannot be abused in any way.
4. What is an embossed credit card and what cards do you accept? All the VISA, MASTER, JCB, AMEX, DINNERS cards of which an imprint can be made and inserted in the lease contract. Visa Electron or Maestro cannot be used for this purpose or for the purpose of pre-authorization!!!
5. What does the standard insurance cover? The standard insurance covers damage liability, car insurance against theft and damage, and is valid in the Czech territory only. For an additional fee the same insurance cover is applicable also for traveling within the EU. However, this type of insurance requires the client’s contribution. The insurance is not applicable to damage to tires, wheel rims, obligatory equipment or car interior.
6. What does the extra insurance cover? The Extra Insurance relieves the hirer of the obligation of contribution in case of damage or theft. This type of insurance is valid throughout the EU and provides for a full assistance service in case of damage, theft or technical breakdown, including the arrival of a replacement car. For this type of insurance it is not required to pay extra for international insurance coverage! The Extra Insurance packages does not cover any damage to tires, wheel rims or car interior.
7. What does the base rate for car rental cover? The total price includes the base insurance with the client’s contribution, an unlimited number of kilometers (except for special and long-term rentals), VAT, road and highway fees. The price also includes the operating costs of the car as oil, replacement bulbs, the first filling of wiper liquid (if more is needed the costs are to be covered by the hirer), and radio fees. The cost of fuel is not included in the rent! The car is delivered with a full tank and is required to be returned with a full tank again.
8. What is the lease term? The minimum charge is for 24 hours. If the car is rented for e.g. 6 hours, one full day (24 hours) shall be charged. For weekend rates the price covers the period from Friday 12:00 noon till Monday 10:00 a.m.
